I got the Disney+ trial to watch the Mandalorian with my buddies. We had a Samsung Smart TV, a laptop, desktop, and an Android phone on which we could try and watch Disney+.
First off, the Samsung TV app didn't work. When you play any content, it gets stuck at 0:00 and does not play anything. This is a 2 month old UHD TV of a friend of mine btw. Couldn't find it on the compatibility list, but the compatibility list might have only listed US models (I'm in the Netherlands).
Then we try and cast it through the Android app. Well, our Android phones only support L3 security DRM, not L1, so we couldn't even get the Android app installed on any of our phones.
Then we try plugging in the laptop directly with HDMI to the TV and stream it that way. Then we discover "Error Code 83" and find out that Disney+ does not work on Linux......... the OS on which all their servers are probably running on. Same with the Desktop, as it also runs on Linux.
All of this troubleshooting took about half an hour. Then I opened qbittorrent and we started watching the Mandalorian within 30 seconds and canceled my Disney+ subscription.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you get your potential customers to pirate your content instead of paying for it.
