Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says former side Juventus are "not just a team".

After the Bianconeri beat Empoli 3-0 on Sunday, rivals Napoli slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Atalanta, leaving last year’s Champions four points clear at the top after just seven rounds.

"Juventus are replicating on the pitch what everyone thought they were capable of on paper," Ranieri explained on Radio 1.

"It is not just a team, it's a club. The Bianconeri are doing an excellent job and should be given credit for this to all involved."

Serie A Champions Juventus have shown fresh interest in Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, according to Spanish reports.

The Bianconeri reportedly tried to secure the services of the 28-year-old in the summer, but the offer was rejected by both the Catalan club and the player himself.

Now fichajes.net is reporting that interest from the Old Lady has been revived, as they look to bolster their midfield options.

Such a deal may prove difficult, as Barca Coach Luis Enrique is said to value the importance of the player to his squad, and so instead the Turin-based outfit focus their attention on Axel Witsel instead.

At the moment, the player seems to prefer to stay put, but the signings of Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes may mean that playing time is limited and therefore the situation could change in January.

“Winning against Inter was important for the table and for our self-confidence. We beat a big club but we need to work with serenity to reach our targets.”

Spalletti was also asked to share his thoughts on Sarri’s claims. The partenopei boss had claimed that it will be impossible for every Serie A side to get to the same level of Juventus this season.

“Sarri is very smart. If he says something, there is a reason behind that. I think Juventus are exactly what we expected. They’ve made the most of what opponents allowed them, because, in my opinion, they haven’t done very well so far.”

The youngster joined the Bianconeri from Dinamo Zagreb this summer, and has been tipped as a star of the future by Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Having been sidelined with a calf injury in training, it was already clear that Pjaca wouldn’t be available to face Kosovo and Finland.

However, the Croatian federation has today announced that the injury is more serious than first thought.

“After attempting to train with his teammates on Monday, Pjaca felt a pain in his leg which existed even before the meet-up,” the HNS confirmed in a statement.

“Today’s review of the MRI at the Sv. Katarina hospital showed a fibular infraction, or cracked fibula which will rule him out for the Kosovo and Finland games.”

The injury is not as serious as a fully broken leg, but Pjaca is still expected to miss around six weeks of the season.
