The youngster joined the Bianconeri from Dinamo Zagreb this summer, and has been tipped as a star of the future by Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Having been sidelined with a calf injury in training, it was already clear that Pjaca wouldn’t be available to face Kosovo and Finland.

However, the Croatian federation has today announced that the injury is more serious than first thought.

“After attempting to train with his teammates on Monday, Pjaca felt a pain in his leg which existed even before the meet-up,” the HNS confirmed in a statement.

“Today’s review of the MRI at the Sv. Katarina hospital showed a fibular infraction, or cracked fibula which will rule him out for the Kosovo and Finland games.”

The injury is not as serious as a fully broken leg, but Pjaca is still expected to miss around six weeks of the season.

Chelsea promised Antonio Conte a £60m bid to lure Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus in January, claims The Telegraph.

The English newspaper suggests club owner Roman Abramovich pledged to break the bank for the centre-back.

Conte has found working with the defence at his disposal extremely difficult and has never disguised Bonucci is his dream signing.

Today Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed Chelsea made an offer of £58m on transfer deadline day for Kalidou Koulibaly, but it was rejected.

Abramovich now seems prepared to increase that further to £60m for Bonucci.

The Italy international is also wanted by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, but Juventus remain adamant he is not for sale.

Bonucci has a relatively rare skill-set for a centre-back, as he starts moves with Andrea Pirlo-esque passes and can play in three or four-man defences.

The world transfer record for a defender is £50m, the sum Paris Saint-Germain paid to get David Luiz, although the player returned to Stamford Bridge this summer for £30m.

Paulo Dybala said he’s close to a new contract with Juventus and it’s reported to triple his current wages to €6m per year.

The Argentine is still on the same €2.2m net plus bonuses per season that he agreed when making the move from Palermo just over a year ago.

While on international duty this week, Dybala stated he was close to agreeing a contract extension with the Turin giants.

According to Calciomercato.com, the new deal will run to June 2021 and be worth between €5.5m and €6m net per year.

That does not include the bonuses that could take him close to teammate Gonzalo Higuain’s €7.5m per season salary.

Negotiations are believed to have been going on for several months and are now down to the details.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala denies he could join Barcelona - “I’m already at one of the best clubs in the world”.

The Argentinian international has been linked with a move to Camp Nou, and has been compared with the Blaugrana’s talisman Lionel Messi.

“I can play in his role, but I can’t play like him,” Dybala told Fox Sports.

“It’s impossible to play like Messi. Barça? I haven’t talked with Messi about the possibility of playing with him at Barça, and no-one from Barcelona has spoken to me or my agent.

“The Catalans are definitely one of the biggest clubs in the world, but I’m already at one of the best clubs in the world.

“Two years ago Juventus played in the Champions League final, I’m happy in Turin and I don’t see why I should think about going anywhere else.”
