Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: Montpellier defender set for Newcastle medical
Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is scheduled for a medical at Newcastle on Monday ahead of a £6.8m move.
He will be Newcastle's second signing of the transfer window after France right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
Newcastle are also facing a fight to keep hold of their captain Fabricio Coloccini after the central defender asked to leave the club.

Newcastle United have signed defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from French side Montpellier for an undisclosed fee, believed to be about £6.8m
Yanga-Mbiwa also said the fact there were already several French players at the club - including internationals Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy and Hatem Ben Arfa - made it easier for him to make the move to St James' Park.
Yanga-Mbiwa captained Montpellier to their first Ligue 1 title last season and made more than 200 appearances for the club.

Newcastle have agreed a fee to sign defender Massadio Haidara from Nancy, according to the French side.
The 20-year-old left-back is to have a medical at the St James' Park club before completing the move.
After 46 games and two-and-a-half years in the Nancy shirt, Massadio Haidara is leaving for Newcastle," said a statement on the Nancy website.The two clubs have reached an agreement and will finalise the transfer on Tuesday."

Newcastle have completed the signing of defender Massadio Haidara from Nancy
The 20-year-old left-back, who has represented France at Under-20 and Under-21 level, moved to St James' Park for an undisclosed fee.
He said: "I like the club's ambition to strengthen the whole team so we can improve our league position - that's what appealed to me."
