The
EuroBasket 2015 Draw will take place in Disneyland, Paris on Monday, and with four host nations, will follow a slightly different protocol.
Following on from the exceptional circumstances leading to the relocation of EuroBasket 2015 from Ukraine to four host nations -
Croatia, France, Germany and Latvia - at short notice, each of the four hosts was granted the right to select a partner Federation for commercial and marketing criteria.
With this in mind, it is already known prior to the Draw that
Slovenia must be drawn into the same group as Croatia,
Finland into the same group as France,
Turkey into the same group as Germany and
Estonia into the same group as Latvia.
All eight of these teams will still be drawn from their respective pots depending on their seedings in the Draw. First of all, the four host nations will be drawn with the first country drawn going into Group A, the second into Group B, the third into Group C and the fourth into Group D.
Following this, the remaining teams will be drawn, based on their seeding, with each team going to the next available spot on each seeded line. The exception to this rule will be when the four partner Federations are drawn, as they will be directly placed into the same group as their respective partners.
