Tale of the game
Chelsea know what they have to do. A win will confirm their fourth title and third in the Premier League. Even a draw will be enough, if Manchester United fail to win at home to Stoke. And if United should lose at home, then Chelsea will finish first whatever happens at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are also five goals short of 100 in the Premier League, and three short of their previous highest total, of 98 in the 1960-61 campaign. And at Stamford Bridge they have scored 60 goals, one short of the club record home haul (also set in the 1960-61 term).
Chelsea have won six of their last seven Premier League games but even if they win the title they will fall short of their points total in their previous two Premier League title seasons. In 2005-06 when took 91 points, a year after winning 95.
Wigan arrive having won just one of their last six Premier League games but when they met Chelsea at the DW Stadium in September, they won 3-1, scoring their last two goals after Petr Cech was sent-off. And when the teams met at Stamford Bridge last season it needed a last minute goal from Frank Lampard to separate them.
Chelsea are still without Jose Bosingwa and Michael Essien but Ricardo Carvalho and John Obi Mikel have an outside chance of being fit. Wigan miss Marcello Moreno and test goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, who missed the 2-2 draw with Hull on Monday after having stitches inserted in a facial wound.
What they're saying:
Robert Martinez: "A strong performance at Stamford Bridge is an important way to finish the season. We are not going to just turn up and be another team at Stamford Bridge. We will approach it in a manner where we want to hurt Chelsea on the day.
This season: Wigan 3 Chelsea 1.
Last season: Wigan 0 Chelsea 1, Chelsea 2 Wigan 1.
Stat of the game: Wigan have never won at Chelsea in the Premier League, losing three and drawing one of four visits.
Betting tip: It will be nervous but you cannot bet against the Blues. Try 2-1 at 11-1.
Opta stats:

-Five goals will bring up the century, last achieved in the top-flight by Tottenham in 1962-63 (111).
-Anything less than a win will see Wigan record their lowest ever Premier League points total.
-Chelsea have conceded only 12 goals from open play all season.
-Didier Drogba is bidding to become the third Chelsea player to win the Golden Boot in the last four seasons (Drogba 2, Anelka 1).
