Lokomotiv Yaroslavl's (ice hockey team) plane crashed on tuesday, 36 players and officials were killed. This incident, reminding United of the Munich Air Disaster in 1958, led to them sending their condolences towards to Russian team . David Gill (United's chief executive) wrote a letter to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl saying that everyone at United are supporting them.
Gill added in the letter: ‘I hope that you can take strength from the knowledge that, with time, support and the collective determination of those who are left at the club, and colleagues throughout your sport and further afield, Lokomotiv will recover from this and rebuild itself in the memory of those who died.’
