Eto'o for Samp player-manager?
By Football Italia staff
There are some odd reports that Samuel Eto’o wants to be Sampdoria player-manager with Henk ten Cate as his assistant.
Sinisa Mihajlovic has been heavily linked with an exit from Samp over the summer, as Napoli and Milan are the most likely contenders.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Eto’o has made an intriguing proposal to President Massimo Ferrero.
The January signing would like to become player-manager for the Blucerchiati.
This is against the rules in Italy, so he’d have to do any management activities in a purely unofficial manner.
Instead, former Barcelona assistant manager Ten Cate would be the nominal Coach, sharing information and taking orders from Eto’o.
The Dutch tactician has worked all over the world, including Chelsea, Panathinaikos, Al-Ahli Dubai, Umm Salai, Shandong Luneng and most recently as caretaker manager for Sparta Rotterdam.
