Didier Drogba will lead the Chelsea attack against his former club, flanked by
Salomon Kalou and
Florent Malouda.
Petr Cech is in goal as
Carlo Ancelotti selects a team of many regular starters, but
Josh McEachran, a starter against Zilina, retains his Champions League place as holding midfielder.
Jose Bosingwa is at right-back, his 50th game in the Champions League, and
Paulo Ferreira is asked to play left-back in place of rested
Ashley Cole.
John Terry is captain of the side for the 350th occasion.
Marseille are without France international forward André-Pierre Gignac. Defenders Hilton and César Azpilicueta who both started the game at
Stamford Bridge area also injured. Brandao will again play as the one up front.
Didier Deschamps names only six subs.
