Iratus Okey seriously I wish you nice stay In Macedonia, Pay more attention in Ohrid because there is tourist season. About speaking English in Macedonia I do not believe that people can help you in english language so better take with you a guided tour from travel agencies.

Thank you for your nice advice but I never take a guided tour. I prefer to "feel" a country and not to be a typical tourist :)

До Охрид можеш да стигнеш и со воз?

Нема вози в Македониjа?

I was also planning to visit Tirana. Shouldn't I?

Of course, you should, but other time, you got here much interests how to spent time, there isn't much difference between Macedonia and Albania, the climate, the architecture is the same, excluding the sea and beautiful beaches...

Yes, and in this case stereotype is based on experience...

:)
Абе ајде... ?

You should come to Cair, Skopje, comrade! The people here are very receptive to tourists, there are a lot of great restaurants serving authentic Balkan cuisine, the public transport via bus is safe for travel and the atmosphere of this great suburb is best felt when walking alone at night. And of course, if you want i can arrange for you to buy some great AKs or other Soviet or Yugoslav weaponry as souvenirs, depending on your preferences.

:sneaky:

There is, but you don't want to get in one of them, trust me. They are in terrible condition. It's better to use a bus altough they are 0.5-1 euro more expensive.

The question about Tetovo, the only exciting place for tourist is the mountain ski-centre called Popova Shapka, but thats for the winter of course. You can visit now, in summer, too, but there is not much to see. And if you want to have smooth stay, you'll need to speak Macedonian or Albanian, because there are not much "open" people who speak English.

For the language thing, it's similar for the other cities to (except Ohrid and Skopje), you will need a good Macedonian to find people who can show you nice things. But if you find some tour-guide man, it will be much easier, and you can try to visit lot of other places with his/her/their recomendation. There are interesting things to see, no mater we are small country. ;)

Mate, I was born in the Soviet Union. Thank you, but I don't need AKs)) What I would definitely like to have in MK is the food. By the way, what would you recommend? What is the typical Macedonian food?
