Sarri: 'Juve pressure normal'
Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri says that if he didn’t want to feel pressure, he “would’ve taken a job at the post office” in the wake of recent league defeats.
The Bianconeri have lost their last two away games in a row, and speculation is mounting that the club will either bring back former coach Max Allegri or attempt to hire Pep Guardiola in the summer.
Sarri however says the pressure of the job comes with the territory.
“If I didn’t want to face examinations I would’ve taken a job at the post office. This is the job,” Sarri said in his press conference ahead of the Coppa Italia semi final first leg against Milan.
“We are on target to reach the objectives we set out at the start of the season. Of course in matches were things go wrong there are reflections to be made.”
It was reported that Sarri met with club President Andrea Agnelli in the wake of the 2-1 defeat to Verona, but Sarri puts a different spin on it.
“We were supposed to have dinner after the Fiorentina game, I was at Coverciano, and the President had commitments and so it was arranged for later.
“We had a normal dinner, however it was planned.”
Douglas Costa is once again out through injury, with the Brazilian reportedly out for between 15 and 20 days.
“We have a large squad, which has always led Juve coaches to use more systems. Also we are ready to adapt to other formations with giving valuations on the individuals too.”
Miralem Pjanic has come in for criticism as of late, with former Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli referring to him as “as soft as mozzarella,” but Sarri says he won’t change his role.
“No, for me his best position is the one he currently plays in. He has good quality as a trequartista, but he isn't playing in that position right now.
“He started the season in good form, now he is suffering from fatigue, but he will return to his level, it’s normal that this can happen during the season.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in devastating form in the last two months, so will he be rested with the return of the Champions League in two weeks time?
“We will see, I have spoken with him and he told me he is feeling well. We will evaluate on a game-by-game basis.”

Juve get €103m from new Allianz deal
Juventus announced the extension of their professional relationship with Allianz to 2030, including naming rights to the stadium and kit sponsorship, worth €103.1m.
The new deal will see developments from tomorrow’s Coppa Italia semi-final with Milan, as there will be a large Allianz logo on their training and warm-up kit for the next 10 years.
The total agreement consideration is €103.1 million to be added on top of the existing agreements,” confirmed a statement.
The deal also extends naming rights for the Allianz Juventus Stadium from July 2023 to June 2030, visibility on the training kit of the first team and some sponsorship rights for the women’s team.
“We are very happy to have expanded our partnership with Allianz, one of the most active global brands in the professional sport industry,” said Juventus Chief Revenue Officer Giorgio Ricci.
“This agreement, which defines a wider perimeter of rights, will be visible every day on the training field and during match days, and it will also allow us to say with certainty that our stadium will be an Allianz venue until 30 June 2030.”

“This is our 10th year at the helm of Juventus. Usually, eras run for three to four years, but we have been able to continually renew and renovate while also getting positive results.
“We are currently on track for all our objectives this season and the club is very happy. We have top level players and tried to enact a generational shift without going overboard or changing 10 players at once, bringing in young talent like Matthijs de Ligt and Adrien Rabiot.”
Paratici was asked if Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Juventus.
“There are no doubts.”
Paulo Dybala is also in negotiations for a new extended contract with the Old Lady.
“We are very happy with Dybala, he is our Number 10, we invested heavily in him and of course hope he can be Juve’s Leo Messi.”
