Player ratings

Valdes: 6 - Made a fine save from Duda's free kick in the first half but otherwise had very little to do except to pick the ball out of his net.

Dani Alves: 6.5 - Showed what Barcelona had been missing with his runs down the right hand side and was frequently involved in the final third, setting up the second goal.

Puyol: 6 - There was little threat to deal with from Malaga, but he dealt well with Obinna's pace. Drawn in too easily as the Nigerian played in Valdo for the goal however.

Pique: 6 - Picked up a needless booking for protesting, but was otherwise solid at the back and threatened at set pieces.

Maxwell: 6 - Provided an option on the overlap but was generally confined to a more withdrawn role to allow for Dani Alves' attacking instincts.

Xavi: 8 - He played some fantastic football in the middle of the pitch, summed up by a breathtaking through ball that split half the Malaga team in the build up to Messi's winner.

Busquets: 7 - No theatrics from the defensive midfielder tonight, but a good steady performance in the midfield as he broke up a number of Malaga attacks and kept the pressure on the visitors.

Iniesta: 7 - Often cut inside onto his right foot to swing in some dangerous crosses, but was sometimes guilty of trying to over-play the ball. Unlucky to see a shot come back off the crossbar in the second half.

Messi: 7.5 - Scored the decisive goal with a simple finish, but like Iniesta he was sometimes trying to play the perfect ball rather than shooting himself. A dynamic performance nonetheless.

Ibrahimovic: 5.5 - Slack and lazy once more - often looked to be a step behind the play. Had a goal disallowed in the final minutes after he fouled Weligton in the build up.

Pedro: 7.5 - Scored on his 50th appearance for the club, and his pace and skill were far too much the players that were supposed to mark him, Torres in particular.

Substitutes:

Bojan: N/A - Almost set up Ibrahimovic in the final minutes.

FC Barcelona 2 – 1 Malaga CF

Valdes: Was alert on the rare ocassions that he was called into action. Will be disappointed to have conceded the equalizer late in the game as Valdo put the ball past him in a one on one to get the Andalusians back in the match. – 6

Alves: A solid performance from the full back in his comeback game after having been out for three weeks. Ventured forward, linked up well with Messi and put in some great crosses . Broke into the box and provided Messi with the simplest of tap ins for the winner. Gives Barcelona that much needed width which they have been lacking lately. – 7.5

Pique: He was strong in defense. Made some important interceptions and dealt with aerial balls well. Had a quiet night as Malaga did not threaten much. Brought the ball out of defense and even tried to find Ibrahimovic through some long aerial passes a couple of times. Booked for dissent in the first half. – 6.5

Puyol: A typical performance by the captain as he kept things tidy at the back. Was not at fault for the goal despite his defense moving high up the pitch. – 6.5

Maxwell: Moved up the pitch frequently giving Iniesta and Xavi options on the left. Opted to play the ball back into midfield rather than dart down the flank and put some crosses in. Linked up well with Ibra in the first half. – 6

Busquets: Won the ball back quite a few times and helped his side dominate possession. Made himself available to Puyol and Pique and did well to move the ball forward finding Xavi, Iniesta and Alves on the right throughout the game. - 6.5

Xavi: A vintage Xavi performance. Ran the show from midfield, dictating play helping his team dominate the game for large periods. Showed some brilliant ball control and skill when he nutmegged two Malaga players in the first half. Covered more ground than anyone on the pitch and was in involved in almost everything Barca did. Had an audacious backheel attempt on goal tipped over the bar by Munua and his defense splitting pass to Alves for the winning goal was simply sublime making him the leading candidate for the man of the match. - 9

Iniesta: Don Andres was not at his influential best on the night. Partnered Xavi well in midfield and created a couple of decent opportunities on the left in the first half. Should have put his team ahead before the break when a loose ball fell to him in the box, but he sent his shot wide of the post. Had another great chance to score in the second half when he struck the crossbar after a quick freekick from Messi. – 6.5

Pedro: The rising star was impressive yet again and started off very lively on the right flank. Did not hesitate to run at the Malaga defense and got the better of his marker on several ocassions. He created Barcelona’s best opportunities to score in the first half when he squared a ball to Ibra in the box and later cut back a pass for Messi which the Argentine couldnt finish. Although both these chances lacked that final accurate pass, he made amends when he gave Barca the lead himself with a great strike from outside the box with just twenty minutes left on the clock. A decisive performance again by the youngster. – 7.5

Messi: The FIFA World Player of the Year made some good runs throughout tried to find gaps in the defense. Had a shot on goal early which was blocked by Weligton. Just when it seemed like it was not going to be his night, Alves squared the ball across goal to him and he made no mistake from 5 yards and scored the winner and his 17th league goal of the campaign. – 7.5

Ibrahimovic: He was one of the better players in the first half as the Blaugrana tried to breach Malaga’s tight defense. Had two great headers on goal, the first was tipped over the bar by the keeper Munua while the second was headed off the line by Weligton. Worked hard and was more involved in play than in his previous few games. Thoroughly deserved the goal which was wrongly taken away from him by the referee for a foul that did not happen. Would have got a higher rating if the goal had stood. - 6.5

Од реализацијата НЕ али од играта презадоволен. Убава партија на око, одличен посед и одлична контрола на топката. Е сега требаше да ги испратиме со петарда но и вака 3-те бода се одлични, + одличен напредок во однос на последните 2 / 3 средби.

Голот на Педрито одличен, али акцијата за вториот гол

Реков пред натпреварот дека ќе бидам разочаран ако не победиме со над 4 гола, но вака подобро излезе, имавме толку многу шанси, убава течна игра и на крајот кога го примивме голот бев уверен дека ќе дадеме уште еден

Добра игра на Барса,убав гол на Педро,лош испад на одбраната при ирамнувачкиот гол на Малага,ама дали запазивте на вториот гол како идеше акцијата ЧАВИ-АЛВЕС-МЕСИ-ГОЛ,а и сами видовте колку е Меси посигурен кога Алвес е позади него!

Многу јако изигравме, Ибра во првиот дел промаши 2 празни гола кој што не му доликува да ги промашува од напаѓач на негова класа се изнапромашувавме, во нас цело време беше топката, а тие прават една акција и по кикс на одбраната дават гол.
Педро секогаш кога ни е најтешко погодува и имал повик и од репрезентацијата на Шпанија.
