Кога веќе сме кај Манџо (малце долгичко е ама вреди да се прочита)...
Mandzukic is the striker Guardiola wanted when he bought Ibrahimovic. Think about it. Mandzukic may not have name recognition or score as much as Zlatan but he's not vain enough to think that being the first line of defence is below him and his ego. I saw Mandzukic at Wolfsburg and he was about as interested in defence as Robben was at the time. Neither one liked tracking back and neither one wanted to be played out of position because their egos would not let them. Since going to Bayern, Mandzukic has seen the importance of being a team player and is a totally different person from his Wolfsburg days. Pep at Barcelona never wanted to play without a striker, but not finding the right one for his system meant the false nine had to be employed and it was to devastating effect. Allowing Messi to cement his place as the best forward in recent history. Other teams could only dream of having their own false 9 and some did try to copy the idea of the strikerless formation.
Now at Bayern, Pep tried to play without Mandzukic in the early season, most notable was the impact he made in the Audi Cup. Pep learned quickly that Bayern's system, the one that had been left for him had to have Mandzukic in order to work. And lo and behold, he scored the goals and added versatility to the attacks, not to mention he also acted as a first line of defence hounding the ball back through the high intensity pressing he does for 90 minutes every single time. I'd say that Pep at Bayern has been given the striker he searched hard for at Barcelona. Mandzukic scores goals, he has great positioning, he's flexible, he defends when needed to, he can win the ball back with virtually no problems and his intelligence can be the key to changing a game. People who were so worried about Pep getting rid of the strikers forgot one thing - Mario Mandzukic is a striker only in name. What he contributes to the team as a whole goes far beyond the description of a normal 9. People like to compare his goal ratio to that of Gomez and it's kind of unfair because even though Gomez did work hard, it's debatable that he could have done as much work in his own half as Mandzukic does week in week out. He doesn't have to score or make goals to make an impact. He's also arguably the one who has benefited most from Guardiola's tactics. I've enjoyed watching him play this season and I hope he keeps up this ridiculously good form.
