Bild: 4:0 against Barcelona in the 1st leg. That has to be enough to reach the Champions League final in Wembley on May 25th, right?
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (57): I'm not relaxed at all. The tie is not over yet. I know that Barcelona will try everything in their power. We will have show a very concentrated performance in order not to endanger our good starting position and to reach the final.
You expect a "Barca hurricane"?
Barcelona has incredible offensive power. They will give it all right from the start. Just like they did after the 0:2 in the round of sixteen 1st leg against AC Milan. Lionel Messi scored the 1:0 within five minutes. That's how they impressed Milan. We have to stop such a thing from happening.
Nevertheless: wasn't the 4:0 humiliation in Munich not already the change of power at the top of the European football?
I am very cautious with the word change (of power). Barcelona dominated the Champions League for 6-7 years, won the title three times. We now look eye to eye with the biggest clubs in the world once again. Now we have to work on keeping this level for the years to come and we have the quality.
Bayern are close to their third Uefa CL final within four years.
Reaching the final of the Uefa Champions League once again would be fantastic. We have the dream to become the best team in the world. We have the chance this season. We are already champion and we are in the cup final. Should we make it to Wembley then we can win the treble. That's something even the Beckenbauer-Müller-Maier team didn't manage. They only one the double.
However there is some trouble. Dortmund boss Watzke and Mainz manager Heidel criticized Bayern for their lack of communication during the transfers. Does Bayern lose their good stile?
It is our task to make good transfers to increase the quality of our team. As long as nothing is signed you just cannot go around and tell everybody or just call and say: "by the way, we agreed with Mario Götze".
Especially this transfer breeds ill blood.
I don't think that Bayern München lacks stile. I believe that our colleagues are disappointed about the loss of their good players. Mainz lost Jan Kirchhoff to us without a transfer fee. That hurts. And Borussia Dortmund lost their best player, then you're obviously angry even though they get a lot of money for him. I empathize with that. I would be angry, too, in case Franck Ribéry would be lured away by some other club tomorrow. However: Götze had a release clause in his contract which made his transfer possible.
Ribéry has a contract with Bayern until 2015. Without a release clause.
Correct. As soon as you give players the possibility to terminate their contract with clauses you can't complain if they use them at the end of the day. Therefore Bayern players don't have release clauses in their contracts.
€ 37m transfer Mario Götze doesn't have one?
No, here in München he doesn't have a release clause like in Dortmund. There were efforts to negotiate such a thing into his contract but we refused such a thing.
Günter Netzer said, Mario Götze is the biggest talent in the entire world.
When a proven expert like Günter Netzer says such a thing then I won't object. Mario is without a doubt already an superb player.
When will Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski arrive?
We handle this matter very relaxed. I read that he supposedly signed already. We immediately denied that. There is nothing more to say about it.

How many names are left on future coach Pep Guardiola's shopping list?
Jupp Heynckes will deliver an extremely very intact team . In all our discussions he had one clear message: You have a great team and not too many changes are needed. Pep Guardiola is very, very content with the Mario Götze transfer. He even congratulated me for the transfer. What's more? I learned from my time in Italy that future plans must never be made public.
Will Heynckes really retire after this season?
I don't know. It is imy impression that he doesn't want to talk about it. Therefore I won't ask him but his name is linked with a lot of clubs.
Except at Schalke where Stefan Effenberg is a serious contender for the coaching position.
Matthias Sammer made the coaching license together with Stefan Effenberg. During this time he must have committed and presented himself very well. I already know: Effe will be a good coach and I'm convinced: Should Schalke chose to trust "Effe" then they are making a very good choice. He doesn't have experience as a coach but he has such profound knowledge of football that he'll manage. Some time you just have to start.
He was also linked to Bayern. To coach the second team.
Should Effe have the possibility to work in the Bundesliga then this is something he has to do. That's something you can only recommend him.
Will he have to fight the Scottish relations next season because Bayern will dominate everything?
Scottish relations - that's a phrasing Dortmund used. We have to fight two battles. Every club in the Bundesliga has an interest in an exciting competition. On the other hand the Bundesliga has to finally make a statement internationally and win a title. This sounds like Bayern München was six time champion over the last 6 years. Did you already forget that we didn't win the title for two years?
So there is no concern that the league will become boring?
No, I've no worries about the attractiveness of the Bundesliga. We will never have Scottish relations. We always had a little bit of Spanish relations. During the 70s we had Bayern and Gladbach dominating, during the 80s Bayern and Hamburg, during the 90s Bayer and Bremen and now we have Bayern and Dortmund. I am convinced Dortmund will continue to scratch us. They will not raise the white flag and surrender.
All the euphoria is fine but how much does Uli Hoeneß' voluntary declaration of tax debts cloud your feelings?
This is a situation which we have to face seriously but also sovereign. We have to manage this situation in a manner that the club and especially the team will be unimpressed. We succeeded.
Do you feel with Uli Hoeneß?
Uli is very tense. The whole matter will certainly leave its marks with a person. I already said: I'm a friend of Uli Hoeneß and a friend will show up at difficult times and not in times of celebrations. I have the utmost respect for Uli Hoeneß and his life-long achievements, our FC Bayern.
Considering the disturbances, wouldn't it be better were Uli Hoeneß to temporarily let his position as chairman of the supervisory board rest during the investigations?
That's a decision only Uli Hoeneß and the members of the supervisory board can make.
