POST-SEASON BRIEFING 2010/11
Milestones of season 2010/11
Equal best defence in the Barclays Premier League
Dropped only six points from winning positions this season - the best in the Premier League.
Did not lose a league game this season when opening the scoring (won 16 and drawn three).
Lost nine Premier League games which is the most since we lost the same number in 2002/03 when we finished fourth. We failed to score in seven of those nine matches.
Equalled our biggest away win in the top flight at Wigan - 6-0 (equal with Barnsley in August 1997).
First occasion we have ever scored six in two successive league games: West Bromwich Albion at home and Wigan away.
Didier Drogba became the third player in Premier League history to score hat-tricks in successive matches (Wigan home 9 May 2010 and West Brom home 14 August 2010). He follows in the footsteps of Ian Wright and Les Ferdinand, who both achieved the feat in the 1990s.
West Ham's Scott Parker (11/9) ended Chelsea's run of 35 unanswered league goals, nine more than any other side in top-flight history (since 1888).

John Terry v Marseille at home).

50th Champions League win v Spartak Moscow (a) (in our 98th match).
Carlo Ancelotti's 50th Chelsea win in his 71st match in charge. Second quickest in Chelsea history behind Jose Mourinho (67 games).
First time in 165 games to lose back-to-back league games (Sunderland home and Birmingham away).
Gaël Kakuta (v Aston Villa a) and
Josh McEachran (v Newcastle h) were the only players to start a Premier League game who were not full internationals.
