about
Israeli Flying Aid is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that was established in 2005 by Gal Lousky, after many years of international and national humanitarian activities. The organization is assisting in 4 major areas:
1. Disaster Response
IFA provides humanitarian aid and relief to people and communities in areas hit by nature or territorial conflicts. It is in our belief that people are humans where ever they are and as for that, deserve every assistant and support we can give.
We are committed to reach every place were people suffer, especially those whom the Israeli government representatives are not able to reach from any reason, and to fully cooperate with governmental authorities in any humanitarian issue.
2. Assisting Israeli travelers in Distress Overseas
IFA is assisting in locating and returning of backpackers suffering from psychosis following drugs usage as well as locating missing travelers and transport of deceased traveler`s bodies.
3. Israeli Prisoners Abroad
IFA believes in allowing “a second chance for first trippers”. IFA supports young Israelis, who served in the IDF, that were, for the first time, involved in criminal activities in countries they traveled to.
The assistance is focusing on locating local lawyers, giving directions through the legal procedures to fully exercise the prisoner`s rights according to the detaining country`s law, Improvement of detention conditions, supporting the prisoner`s families and guiding them about their consular rights, cooperating with the relevant departments in the foreign ministry.
4. Promotion of Favorable Public Image of Israel
IFA leaders are often invited to lectures in federations, universities and business and political forums overseas, both friendly and hostile.
In such lectures we present our activities in the international aid arena and thus presenting the positive image of the state of Israel – volunteering spirit, ability to identify with other people in trouble and ability to look beyond the complex reality we live in. There is more to Israel then a child holding a rock against a tank threat in Gaza. Israel is also groups of citizens who are dedicated to help other people, be them total strangers, regardless of religion, race or gender. Such citizens are willing to leave behind family and work, put themselves in personal danger and fly to any place that requires their help and skills.
