Hello dear Macedonians! My name is Georgi and I am planning to visit your wonderful country in September. I am going to spend 10 days there.
I have some questions and would highly appreciate it if you answer them.
How many days is enough to see Skopje and Ohrid? Are the cities very big? Should I take a bus inside the cities? How much is a ticket? What is the best way to go to Ohrid? By bus or train? How much is a ticket? What towns would you recomment to visit if I stay in Skopje and Ohrid and want to make daily trips?
I might have other questions too :)
By the way, I would love to meet real Macedonians too. My native language is Russian and I am fluent in English. So, anyone who would like to have a chat and drink tea or coffee with me is more than welcome!
Hope to see your replies soon.

I just find it hard to believe, that you've managed to register on Macedonian forum without knowing the language. There is no option (I think) for choosing another language on this page.

Hello Georgi, I wish you a safe trip to Macedonia and I hope you'll spend a great time here. I highly recommend you to visit Skopje for 2-3 days and the rest to spend in Ohrid. It's summer season in Ohrid and this time of the year it's most beautiful and full with tourists. I think you would love the architecture, people, food etc..

I suggest you see this website: http://www.ohrid.com.mk

When in Skopje I suggest you see the city square, the old bazaar, take a trip to mountain Vodno, lake Matka, Kale fortress etc.

When fed up from Skopje, you can go to the Skopje train station and book a ticket to Ohrid for approximately 700-800 denars which is 11-12 euros, (the cost includes trip to Ohrid and back to Skopje). You travel by bus 3-4 hours.

If you want to ask something else you're welcome.

Нека ме допуни некој ме здомрзе

Hello again Iratus!

For Skopje and Ohrid, you need about a 5 days, at least. Cities are not very big, specially Ohrid. Bus you can use only in Skopje, and for Ohrid...taxi is better option. Ticket for city bus in Skopje is about a half euro. To go to Ohrid, the only option is with bus. For a ticket I don't know. Bitola and Krusevo are good place to visit for a day. Sorry for my bad English...

Е де, јас се имам регистрирано на руски форуми без проблем. Не е тешко, посебно коа имаш Google Translate кој преведува и по цели сајтови.

Thank you for all your answers! That's very kind of you.
I will ask a few more questions I think.
Македонец, see you in MK then :) I drink beer too))

Ro:dd'ast, should I visit Bitola and Krushevo from Skopje or Ohrid? What about Tetovo, Kumanovo, Shtip? Are they nice to visit too?

Nessa Alcarin ;)

Iratus Okey seriously I wish you nice stay In Macedonia, Pay more attention in Ohrid because there is tourist season. About speaking English in Macedonia I do not believe that people can help you in english language so better take with you a guided tour from travel agencies.

До Охрид можеш да стигнеш и со воз?
