SIR ALEX FERGUSON is plotting a sensational £12m bid to hijack Charlie Adam’s move to rivals Liverpool.

Blackpool admitted Liverpoolboss Kenny Dalglish has opened talks over Charlie Adam.
A £7m bid was rejected by the Seasiders in January but the Anfield club have gone back in for the Scotland international.
Now, Starsport understands,Manchester United boss Ferguson is set to go head-to-head with old rival Dalglish and join the race to land Adam.
Adam scored against United at Old Trafford this season and impressed Fergie with a string of stand-out displays for Ian Holloway’s relegated team.
The Seasiders are in no rush to flog Adam and chairman Karl Oyston will not let his prize asset go un- less it is the right deal for them.
But Fergie is convinced he can outmuscle Liverpool because he can offer the 25-year-old higher wages.
Fergie has already beaten Dalglish to the signing of Blackburn’s Phil Jones.
He will turn to Adam because he fears losing out to Chelsea in his bid to sign Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder.
Fergie has made Sneijder his No.1 choice to replace the retired Paul Scholes and is keen on making the Holland midfielder his big-name summer signing.
But the Blues can match United’s £30m bid and are also willing to meet Sneijder’s £200,000-a-week wagedemands.
Meanwhile, Spanish goal-keeping prodigy David De Gea has revealed his joy at being lined up by Manchester United.
The Atletico Madrid ace, 20, is set for an £18m move to Old Trafford to replace Edwin van der Sar.
The Spain Under-21 international said he hopes to emulate the Dutch legend and play on until he is 40.
And he insisted he will be unfazed by the attention he and his pop star girlfriend Edurne will receive in England.
“I feel incredibly motivated by the fact that Manchester United are thinking about me,” De Gea said.
“I like the fact that they are considering me as a replacement for a goalkeeper of Edwin van der Sar’s calibre.
“I will need to keep on striving and working hard, as I am still at the outset of my career, and I still have much to do to reach his level.
“I hope I will still be playing when I am at his age.
“It is hard to look so far ahead, but it is something I want to do.
“I will need strength and good fortune, and I’ll have to look after my body well as football can eat you up.
