Situation on northeastern front:
Four spearheads were opened by Russian Army to penetrate into Kharkov oblast:

- I. Strilecha, Pyl'na & Borysivka were taken by Russian forces. Clashes continue around Krasne and in the northern outskirts of Hlyboke.

- II. Russian troops entered in Zelene. Clashes continue there.

- III. During the last hours Russians crossed the border in the direction of Starytsia.

- IV. The localities of Ohirtseve & Pletenivka were taken by Russians. Currently an operation to capture Vovchansk is taken place from three axis: from the northwest there is fighting in Hatyshche. From the north the troops reached the airfield and meat processing plant. From the east the troops managed to seize the heights overlooking the Vovcha valley and entered a large part of Tykhe.

Situation on northeastern front:

The four spearheads became two after Russian Army secured new positions along the border:

- From the left spearhead Russian forces took control over Krasne, Morokhovets & Oliinikove thus reaching the northeastern outskirts of Hlyboke.

- From the right spearhead troops took full control over Hatyshche and combats with Ukrainian Army reached butter factory at Vovchansk.



Situation west of Donetsk city: Following the withdrawal of Ukrainian Army towards the center of Krasnogorivka Russian Army took full control over the 2014 trench system located on the eastern part of the town until the School Nº1, located in the microdistrict. In addition, troops made new advances north of the refractary plant taking control over the city council and big part of the private sector until Sumska street, which became the new frontline. About 40% of the town is now under Russian hands.



Situation on Zaporizhia front: During the last four days Russian Army made new advances along H-08 road north of Verbove.



Situation east of Chasov Yar: During the last hours Russian Army continues to avance along water canal and secured the first part of the forest west of Ivanivske.



Situation north of Avdivka: During the last five days Russian Army continue advancing north of Ocheretyne and reached Kalinova ponds. On the other hand, during the last hours Russian forces captured a series of trenches southeast of Novookeksandrivka.

Kharkov direction - the new tactic of the Russian Armed Forces is paying off...

Yesterday, even the enemy noted some new features of our offensive tactic, which was used in the Kharkov direction and which gave excellent results.

In the Donbass, where the battle formations are dense, and there are virtually no free zones that can be passed through without encountering serious resistance, we have to literally take out fortified areas and enemy strongholds with aviation and artillery. Hence the low speed of progress.

Near Kharkov, at least in the last two days, due to the low saturation of the front line with infantry from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, we have tried to bypass the enemy strongholds in small infantry groups, essentially surrounding them and forcing them to surrender without a fight. This became, among other things. the reason for the rapid advance and the large number of prisoners who fell into our hands.

At the same time, the enemy notes the good interaction of Russian military units on the battlefield. This makes it possible to carry out offensive operations to a sufficiently large depth without having to stop for a break and clarify the situation.

This is truly a completely new form of offensive for our army. We have never seen anything like this before.

- From Chuhuiv axis Russian forces continue taking control over the hills that overlooks Vovcha valley and entered in the first buildings of Vovchansk were butter and meat factories were taken.



Situation southwest of Donetsk: For the first time in months Russian Army made advances north of Volodymyrivka taking control over some trenches around the Kaolinic quarry.



Situation west of Avdivka: Russian Army began advancing west of Semenivka in order to take the hills located in the gap between Novopokrovs'ke & Umanske.

Assault on Volchansk, May 13.

The use of “Avdeevka tactics” with the massive use of aerial bombs and artillery brought results and allowed the “North” group to quickly pass the airfield and gain a foothold at the meat processing plant on the street. Slobozhanskaya, quickly entering from the side of the pre-occupied Pletenevka.

The Volchansk railway station, the territory of the thermal power plant and stadiums are still behind the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but there is no continuous line of defense in this area. There is a possibility that the main forces of the defending Ukrainian units last night approached the neighboring bank of the Volchya River and occupied part of the buildings, but their number, according to preliminary data, is too small to hold back the advance of Russian troops.

The use of “flower” offensive tactics (as in Avdeevka and Ocheretin, and before that in Popasnaya) with the simultaneous clearing of the flanks and the large-scale use of high-explosive aerial bombs made it possible to penetrate several Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds to the west and east and begin to encircle Volchansk in a pincer movement, while maintaining the pace of the offensive.

The main forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces seem to be concentrating in the area of the T-2104 highway to Bely Kolodez, awaiting the entry of additional forces of the Russian army. A large amount of military cargo went through Bely Kolodez to Kupyansk for a long time, and if this settlement is lost by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the existence of the Kupyansk group of the Ukrainian army will be in question.

Judging by the current events, after reaching the first phase of the offensive, the alignment of the front line in the Volchansk-Ternovaya-Glubokoe triangle may begin. The last village is located not far from the main defensive line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and should soon come under the control of Russian troops.

Situation east of Chasov Yar: During the last 48 hours Russian Army managed to capture the trench north of Kanal microdisrict along the railway and took control over new parts of the northern dachas.



Situation northwest of Donetsk city: During the last three days Russian army took full control over the center of Netailove thus moving the combat to the last two streets of the locality.



Situation on northeastern front:

- From Kharkov axis Russian Army took full control over the village of Hlyboke & increased the pressure over Luk'yantsi from the northwest.



- From Chuhuiv axis Russian forces took control over the northern outskirts of Vovchansk & captured the shoes factory. The current frontline is now at Orlova street, where clashes with Ukrainian Army are taking place.

Some people believe Russian cluster munitions aren't hitting the targets, as in the new video from today of the Ukrainian drones being attacked. But they're misunderstanding how the munitions work.
Watch the video on the left of the strike on the Ukrainian helicopters from last month. Look very closely in the upper right hand corner in the water. Notice how the water is filled with hundreds/thousands of small shrapnel hits?
Those explosions you see are not "missing" the targets, they are saturating the targets with thousands of tiny fragments, totally perforating and destroying them. It's just this is difficult to see from a distant drone camera.
