If he could, Ancelotti would be claiming on his insurance for the damage the full backs in his team are causing him - the weakest area for the Italian. The Portuguese player went off injured and the academy player was substituted because, with a yellow card already against him and the way he was struggling, it was looking likely he would be sent off. In fact, he should have been shown a second yellow card for a foul on Falqué. The game at the Vallecas stadium clearly highlighted the problem Carlo Ancelotti is facing in his lateral defence. Not one of the four is on top form and the coach is rotating them because he is not convinced enough by anyone to keep them in that position. Marcelo is far from at his best and Coentrao has not regained his focus after a summer when he was hoping to leave. The story is the same at right back. Arbeloa is his most reliable player, but he is not delivering to his usual standard, while Carvajal, who showed signs of promise with an impressive Camp Nou performance, was again off the pace in Vallecas, where he seemed overwhelmed and barely made any impact on the attack. He ended up being substituted due to the danger of being shown a red.

За првиве тројца да, ама Коентрао си изигра добро у прво полувреме. Да играше Марсело уште од старт, сигурен сум дека ќе примевмо гол уште у прво полувреме. Марсело е одлично крило, бек никако! Можда петелов е послаб у напад, ама и не е толку лош за да не биде прв избор моментално. Штета што се повреди.
