Former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is in talks to terminate his Zenit St Petersburg contract early.

Tuttomercatoweb and Goal.com both report Marchisio is ready to leave Zenit, less than a year after arriving on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old was released by Juve in August 2018 and signed a contract with Zenit until 2020 a month later.

Roma get a first choice left back in Spinazzola who can slot in immediately, Juve get Pellegrini who is a younger back up & a tidy profit. It’s win-win to me

This is unrelated to Pellegrini. Spinazzola was valued on Juve’s books at €2.9m, Roma paid €29.5m, hence €26.6m profit. It’s the difference in using amortised values (which FFP does) & net spend (which still matters in different context)

The deal came just before the end of Juventus financial year, which ends in June. The books won't look so bad now. This was purely a financial move.
