La Stampa reports Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli is under investigation for potential betting breaches on illegal platforms and risks being suspended for up to three years if found guilty.

According to La Stampa, this is part of an investigation from the Turin Prosecutor regarding gambling through illegal online platforms. Investigators have scanned accesses, data and transactions and Fagioli has emerged as one of the suspected bettors who have now been put under investigation.

FIGC are reported to be aware of the situation since August 30. Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné has also opened an investigation, following a report from the player’s lawyers who informed the Italian Football Federation about the ongoing investigation from the Turin Prosecutor.

Article 24 of the Code of Sports Justice claims professional footballers are prohibited from gambling on ‘official events organised by FIGC, UEFA and FIFA’ and ‘can’t place or receive bets, directly or indirectly.’

If Fagioli is found guilty of gambling on official football games, he could receive a fine higher than €25,000 and be suspended for up to three years.
 
According to Calciomercato.com and Radio Radio, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has also approached former Spurs and Juve director Paratici to potentially work with him as a consultant.

Paratici cannot be hired as a director of sport because he is still sitting out a 30-month ban imposed for his part in inflating Juventus transfer fees to boost capital gains.

It means he is not legally allowed to hold negotiations with clubs or agents, but can act as a consultant to clubs.
