„The Soul of modern man under socialism“
1. It is much more easy to have sympathy with suffering than it is to have sympathy with thought.
2. (Оваа е малку долгичка - жалам) People find themselves surrounded by hideous poverty, by hideous ugliness, hideous starvation; it is inevitable they should be strongly moved by all this, accordingly with admirable though misdirected intentions. They very seriously and very sentimentally set themselves to the task remedying the evils that they see, but their remedies do not cure the decease, they merely prolonged it! Indeed,, their remedies are part of the decease; they try to solve the problem of poverty, for instance, by keeping the poor alive, or in the case of very advance school, by amusing the poor. But this is not the solution, it is an aggravation of the difficulty. The proper aim is to try to reconstruct the society in such a basis that poverty will be impossible! The altruistic virtues have really prevented the carrying out of this aim. The worst slave owners were those who were kind to their slaves, so prevented the horror of the system being realized by those who suffered from it, and understood by those who contemplated it!
3. It is immoral to use private property in order to alleviate the horrible evils that result from the institution of private property!
4. Charity degrades and demoralizes! - Charity creates a multitude of sins.
5. The fact is, that civilisation requires slaves. The Greeks were quite right there. Unless there are slaves to do the ugly, horrible, uninteresting work, culture and contemplation become almost impossible. Human slavery is wrong, insecure, and demoralizing. On mechanical slavery, on the slavery of the machine, the future of the world depends.
6. High hopes were once formed of democracy; but democracy means simply the bludgeoning of the people by the people for the people.
7. A man who does not think for himself does not think at all.
