Andre-Pierre Gignac: He's been playing some great football and is admired by Rudi Garcia. Only 28 years old, 9 goals in 9 matches this season. He's described as a powerful and dangerous striker with a great aerial presence. A couple weeks ago against Rennes, he scored twice and was named MOTM.
Gignac 13/14
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: 31 years old, but 61 goals in just over 100 games for Schalke. Those are massive figures. He could be a great, if not the best cost-effective option for Roma. More of a poacher than Destro, he could be a player put on the pitch to break the deadlock. In 11/12 he scored 29 goals in the Bundesliga. He's played in Serie A before, but was never really given the chance at Milan. On a personal note, I think he's a great option.
Emmanuel Adebayor: The focal point of almost every team he plays for, it's best if Adebayor goes back to being a big fish in a small pond. He does have that magic about him though. Worth a consideration, but I'd rather sign Zaza for the same amount his wages would cost.
Khouma Babacar: The Senegalese/Italian jewel. I'm hoping Conte caps him soon, as this kid had quite the match last fixture. Scoring a screamer against Inter, Babacar can become a great forward. I expect him to sign a new deal with Fiorentina, the club he grew with. However, playing for a more prospective squad may entice him to make the train ride south. 21 years old, his market value has increased from sub 1 million to over 4.5 million Euro in under a year. He was a phenomenal for their primavera, and has all the makings of a future top forward. In Serie B with Modena he scored 20 goals in 40 matches
Sami Khedira: I don't expect a Real Madrid star to want to come and play second fiddle to De Rossi. I also think his wages will be above and beyond.
James Milner: Another one with super duper wages. He would make a good option on the wing though. He could really pin the opponent down with his work rate. He had a poor showing against Roma in the CL, but he's still a decent player.
Milner 13/14 review
Yevhen Konoplyanka: For article on him, see here.
Alberto Aquilani: Alberto does a lot of the dirty work for Fiorentina, and of course, he's from Rome. However, there just may not be any space for him. Keita though, is older, and Alberto could be a good option for depth. It would all depend on how much playing time he wants.
Fabian Schar: The young Swiss (22) is still at Basel and put in a great performance in their win over Liverpool this past CL fixture. He had 5 tackles playing as a RCB in a 3 man backline. Manolas is there, and Jedvaj is on loan, but Saba should keep a sharp eye on a player he's been known to admire.
Juraj Kucka: Kucka was linked to Roma just over a year ago. He would be a sub of DDR and Keita. He has his moments but struggled to make it on a Champions League contending team. I expect him to head to Inter or somewhere he will get more playing time on a somewhat competitive squad.
