Use GOOGLE.com
Basically, follow Google's instruction on error 3 to find in the registry:
1. Go to Start menu -> run
2. Enter regedit
3. Click ok.
4. In the tree view on the left, navigate to the following directory:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2F0E2680-9FF5-43C0-B76E-114A56E93598}\LocalServer32
Now here's what fixed it:
5. Look at the path for the Default file. Try to navigate to that file path like how you would normally find a file. Isn't there? Yeah for me the folder Update didn't even exist in the "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\" path
6. So I went looking for it and I found it in: "C:\Program Files\Google" (or whichever Hard disk you install chrome in, might not be C: )
There I found the Update folder.
7. Copy the Update folder from "C:\Program Files\Google" to "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\" (where your registry say the default file path was).
Now that we have a valid file for the update that is same as the one in the registry, updates should work again.
Hope this helps
