Почина Петар Борота 22 дена пред својот 58 роденден

Некогашниот голман на ОФК Белград и Партизан и поранешниот чувар на мрежата на фудбалската репрезентација на СФРЈ, Петар Борота почина вчера, на само 22 дена пред да го прослави својот 58-ми роденден.
Борота, кој е роден на 5 март 1952 година, од 1970 до 1976 година ги бранеше боите на ОФК Белград, а во дресот на „сините“ одигра вкупно 176 натпревари, од кои 131 првенствен натпревар.
Во сезоната 1976/77 година замина во Партизан, носејќи го дресот на белградските „црно-бели“ во 77 првенствени фудбалски средби.
Во 1979 година Борота стана прв голман на англискиот клуб „Челзи“, чии бои ги бранеше на 107 прволигашки натпревари. Во 1981 година е прогласен за играч на годината на лондонскиот прволигаш.
Својот талент го покажа и во португалскиот фудбал, каде бранеше за екипите Портимоненсе (седум пати) и Боависта (15 пати).
Во националниот дрес на СФРЈ, Борота одигра четири натпревари во сезоната 1977/78 година.
Времето и местото на погребот на фудбалскиот ас ќе бидат дополнително соопштени.

Former Chelsea Player of the Year Petar Borota has died at the age of 57.
A Yugoslavia international before he signed in March 1979, Borota (pictured above left) was first choice goalkeeper for the next two seasons and in total played 114 games for the club.
He was a vividly colourful character in a gloomy, Second Division era for Chelsea and although inconsistent in an inconsistent team, soon became a fans' favourite, winning the Player of the Year vote in 1981 (above) .
Not one to think twice before racing from his penalty area if he decided it the best course of action, on his day Borota could be breathtakingly brilliant. His eccentric style extended to heading away corners and swinging on the crossbar when the ball was up the other end of the pitch. His celebrations when Chelsea scored were a regular feature of TV highlights.
Borota was signed from Partizan Belgrade for £70,000 by manager Danny Blanchflower as a replacement for the legendary Peter Bonetti. He was a rare foreign import to the English game at the time and one of the first keepers here to wear tracksuit bottoms in games.
In his first full season the club narrowly missed out on promotion back to the top flight but by the 1981/82 campaign, Borota's erractic displays were increasingly becoming a problem.
He lost his place to 18-year-old Steve Francis midway through the season and left Chelsea in the summer of 1982, briefly stopping off at Brentford before joining Benfica.
Gary Chivers, who played in the Chelsea defence during Borota's time at the club, says:
'Petar was an unbelievable goalkeeper, very acrobatic and he was the benchmark for the keepers of today because he was one of the first to dribble the ball out. Petar would often be outside the area trying to head or kick the ball, although he wasn't always good at either of them.
'He was a nice, nice guy and he was still a young guy so it is a big shame. He was ahead of his time.'
Peter Bonetti says: 'It is sad news. Petar was such a strong guy back in his Chelsea days, a very good goalkeeper and showman. He was a key character at the club at that time.
'He almost played a sweeping role because sometimes he was out of his goal by miles. He was very athletic and very popular in the years that he was at Chelsea which is why he was voted Player of the Year.
'When you look at fitness fanatics like that dying so young you think what a strange world.'
There was a minute's applause at Stamford Bridge as a tribute before the Chelsea v Cardiff game.
Chelsea Football Club sends our condolences to Petar's family and friends.
