Petr Cech - 6 - Will be disappointed that he failed to keep out Burnley's sole serious attempt on goal. But was otherwise comfortable on another evening where he had little to do.
Ashley Cole - 6.5 - Got forward wherever possible, and could have got on the scoresheet if the ball had fallen better for him on a couple of occasions. Withdrawn early with what looked a slight knock.
John Terry - 7.5 - Weathered the storm of abuse to put in a typically accomplished performance. One wonders how much his personal situation affected the rest of the team, however.
Alex - 6 - Won pretty much every challenge he looked at in the first half, but undid much of that good work with a slack bit of one-on-one defending that allowed Fletcher to sneak in to grab his side a goal.
Branislav Ivanovic - 7.5 - Rampaged down the right flank, dominating his opponents. Was uncompromising defensively and distributed the ball well in another good all-round performance.
Michael Ballack - 6 - Fortunate that the opposition didn't ask too much of him in his role as the designated defensive midfielder. Another solid, organized performance.
Frank Lampard - 6.5 - Dropped deep to give and receive the ball. Work-rate was second to none in a game where the three points were certainly earned.
Yuri Zhirkov - 6.5 - An unlikely midfield choice from Ancelotti, Zhirkov made a few good challenges without ever really standing out. Move to left-back, after Ashley Cole's substitution, showed how competent he is there. Dealt with everything with minimum fuss.
Florent Malouda - 7 - Showed good awareness to lay on Anelka's first goal, carrying on his fine recent form. Looked threatening throughout, quickly becoming indispensable to Ancelotti.
Joe Cole - 6.5 - Carried over the good form from last time out against Birmingham as he posed constant problems. Unlucky to have a goal ruled out due to a marginal offside decision. Early substitution indicates Ancelotti still has misgivings, however.
Nicolas Anelka - 7 - Tapped home from Malouda's intelligent cut-back to smooth the way to a Chelsea victory. His movement caused problems for the Burnley backline, but was less effective against their massed ranks than in recent games.
Substitutes
Daniel Sturridge - 6 - Called on by Ancelotti to change the game. Didn't quite manage that, but nonetheless helped his side grab the win.
Deco - 6 - Fortunately, his creativity wasn't required so much as Terry grabbed his goal soon after the Portuguese schemer's introduction.
И за крај,изјавата на Анчелоти за мечов:
'John played a fantastic game, not only today but also against Birmingham and he is in a very good moment now,' Ancelotti said afterwards.
'I don't want to talk about his personal life, he is doing his job very well every day in every training session, and for this I am not worried. , the professionalism of
John Terry improves the image of the club, he did a fantastic header tonight, I am a manager and I only want to speak about this.
'There is no discussion about this. He is captain and he will be captain. The players never lose their trust in him,' Ancelotti said.
'[It is] not only the players, the manager and all the club supports him and his family. I didn't speak with him because yesterday he did a very good training session, it wasn't necessary to speak with him. He is a professional and focused on his work.'
'It was a hard game, we didn't have the possibility to play like we wanted. Burnley had strong pressure in midfield and made it difficult to play, it was more difficult second half because they grew and we had a lot of fatigue but the end of the second half was very good,' he said. 'We put strong pressure in front and I think we deserved to win.
'It was an important game because it improves our table, four points ahead of Manchester Untied and Arsenal, which is good.'
