Stadium:
Stadium of Light, Sunderland
After the disappointing draw to FC Porto, United puts the focus back on the Premier League. The lads travel to the Stadium of Light to play Sunderland. Both sides will look to secure as many points as possible, as Sunderland is just above the relegation zone, whereas United looks to keep ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea.
The odds are, once again, heavily in United's favour (7.0 for Sunderland, 3.85 for a draw and 1.49 for a United win), but with the sub-par results and performances seen in the past month, as well as the injuries, a 1-0 should be satisfactory.
We all remember the last time we played Sunderland. A Vidic goal, at the very end of the match, secured the three points for United, and that match was at Old Trafford. Last season, United beat Sunderland 1-0 at home as well, but won 4-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Form:
Sunderland's form is as follows: LLLDLDWD. The last match played was against West Ham, away from home, where they lost 2-0. Despite that, they had 12 shots, 7 of which were on target.
United's form (in the premier league) is as follows: WLLWWWWW. After two consecutive losses, United looked to secure three points against Villa, with two goals from Ronaldo and a last minute surprise from Macheda.
Injuries/Suspensions:
Sunderland have McCartney, Tainio and Connolly out. United have Berbatov, Anderson, Rio, Brown, Rafael, Hargreaves, and possibly Evans out.
It's also being reported that Rooney might be out for the game as well.
It's obvious that the injury worries, that have started from the very start of the season, are starting to become a massive problem yet again.
