Paris and London are working to provide Kiev with a nuclear capability, according to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).
The SVR says British and French elites refuse to accept defeat and believe Ukraine needs a “Wunderwaffe” to strengthen its position. In their view, possession of a nuclear device or at least a dirty bomb would give Kiev leverage in ending the conflict on more favorable terms.
Russian intelligence reports that London and Paris are discussing the covert transfer of European-made components, equipment, and technology, along with potential delivery systems. One option under consideration is France’s small TN-75 warhead used on M51.1 submarine-launched missiles. Berlin has reportedly refused to participate.
The SVR states that both countries understand such actions would violate international law, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and risk undermining the global non-proliferation regime. Their alleged strategy is to make any future Ukrainian nuclear capability appear domestically developed.
According to the SVR, Western powers see no path to defeating Russia through the Ukrainian military alone. Moscow warns that these plans are reckless and dangerous, and that those responsible will not avoid accountability.
