Inzaghi: Tassotti not taking my job
"I wanted Tassotti as my assistant," he told reporters on Friday. "We exchange ideas every day, he has been a big help and I don't like reading that he wanted to hand in his notice because that is simply not true.
"I am sorry for Mauro because he is a great person and I fought for a month to keep him here at Milan [when Inzaghi was appointed as coach last summer]."
Inzaghi also reiterated that he is the right man to restore Milan to their former glory.
"I want to be judged for the results I get and I hope that Milan have faith in me as a person and also as a coach," he added.
"I am absolutely convinced that I can still give Milan a lot and I feel the support of the president and of Mr Galliani.
"But whatever happens, Milan will always remain special in my heart.
"But, of course, I would like to coach Milan for the next 20 years - and I am here to reaffirm that."[DOUBLEPOST=1425675390][/DOUBLEPOST]Probable line-up vs. Verona (4-3-1-2): Lopez; Bonera, Paletta, Bocchetti, Antonelli; Poli, Van Ginkel, Bonaventura; Menez; Cerci, Destro.
