Од пред почетокот на втора светска војна, па се до 1976 година, Шведска насилно стерилизирала повеќе од 62000 луѓе. Програмата била насочена најмногу кон имигрантите, како и кон ментално болните. Како што било случај и со сличните програми, етничката припадност и бојата на кожата, се верувало дека се поврзани со менталното и физичкото здравје. Иако многу од Швеѓаните не биле согласни со оваа програма, политичарите ја подржувале. Дури во 1999 Шведска признава и почнува со исплаќање на оштета на оние кои ги повредила.
Еугеника
The Nazis were not alone in viewing Nordic peoples as the ideal biological "type". A lot of Nordics, it now seems, immodestly felt the same way. All four main Nordic countries-Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden-brought in eugenics laws in the 1930s. More remarkably, some of those laws stayed on the statute books until the mid-1970s, though apparently they were not latterly used very often.
It is a subject which most of today's Nordic folk would rather keep in decent obscurity, but a series of articles in an influential Stockholm newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, has been shocking ...

But as the Nazi and Swedish examples show, it is too easy to use eugenics not just to improve the physical quality of humans, but as a tool of social control. As Aldous Huxley wrote in the forward to his utopian horror Brave New World, eugenics can be used to control those with "dangerous thoughts about the social system" who "infect others with their discontents." After all, parents pass on not only their genes to their children, but also their knowledge, values and opinions. That is why eugenics and totalitarianism go together.

The system discriminating naturality and justice, is my enemy. The people living in the world of delusion and supporting this system are my enemies.
