none or just
one non-EU player in the roster on the 30th of June 2013, the club is entitled to buy non-EU players from foreign clubs until the limit of
three is reached, without any restriction.
If a Serie A club has exactly
two non-EU players in the roster on the 30th of June 2013, the club is entitled to buy
one non-EU player from a foreign club without any restriction, until the limit of
three is reached. Furthermore, the club can buy
one additional non-EU player from a foreign club, provided that he replaces a non-EU player on at least one of these conditions:
- the replaced player is sold to a foreign club
- the replaced player’s contract expired on 30/06/2013
- the replaced player obtained European citizenship after the 1st of February 2013
If a Serie A club has
three or more non-EU players in the roster on the 30th of June 2013, the club is entitled to buy
two non-EU players from foreign clubs provided that
both of them replace a non-EU player each on at least one of these conditions:
- the replaced player is sold to a foreign club
- the replaced player’s contract expired on 30/06/2013 (this condition can apply to only one of the replaced players)
- the replaced player obtained European citizenship after the 1st of February 2013
Serie A teams can buy non-EU players within the Italian transfer market with no restriction. Non-EU players that have been signed during the summer window may not be sold until the following window.
