Middlesbrough are reported to have lodged a bid for Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.
Reports in Catalunya, including their leading daily Sport, claim that despite all the rumours surrounding Ronaldinho and his future, Boro are the only firm bidders so far.
Ronaldinho, who is already believed to be on his way out of Barcelona, will be eager to join a club of Middlesbrough stature. He is quoted as saying " Since I was a child I have dreamt of playing for a club such as Middlesbrough and now I am happy to announce that my childhood dream is about to come to fruition. They are ( Middlesbrough) the greatest club in the world, no doubt about that, and I think that it would only be sensible if I joined them as soon as possible."
Then he continues: " I like the style of play that Mr. Southgate has introduced, and, honestly, I think it fits me perfectly.".......

Леле конечно! Дојде 9 Декември. Арсенал иде на риверсајд. Токму кога почнаа да паѓаат во форма доаѓаат на мегдан со екипата која во својата богата историја го има освоено лига купот на Англија- еднаш. Но и тоа е доволно за ние, верните навивачи на Мидлзбро да се надеваме на убедлив триумф над топчиите, оти дојде времето да ги наплатиме седумте комада примени од пред две години и да покажеме цврст и допадлив за око фудбал. Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho has again played down reports that he could be leaving the Nou Camp during the January transfer window, but team-mate Eidur Gudjohnsen could be a different story.
Chelsea, Middlesbrough and AC Milan are among those clubs who have been linked to Ronaldinho, who has found himself under the media spotlight this season for some indifferent performances on the pitch and his private life off it.However its interesting that only Middlesbrough have logged a bid to FC Barcelona for the brazilian forward,but speculation is that Barca have rejected the offer!!
However, the Brazilian superstar, who has been dropped to the bench at Barca recently, claims he is not thinking about calling time on his stint with the Catalan giants, with whom he has a contract until 2010.
"I'm not worried, I feel well, I am calm," Ronaldinho told Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.
"I stay, to fight for the team and obtain successes here."

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has warned his players not to stand and admire Arsenal's football as they attempt to end Gunners' unbeaten run.
Arsene Wenger's men arrive on Teesside on Sunday having not lost a Barclays Premier League game all season.
Southgate was at Newcastle on Wednesday evening to see Sam Allardyce's men muscle their way to a hard-fought point against the free-flowing league leaders, and while he admits his side are unlikely to take the same approach, he is adamant they cannot afford to let their opponents play.
He said: "They have had a tough week with two games where they have been stretched physically and mentally - and we have to make sure the third is exactly the same.
"Arsenal a couple of years ago did go unbeaten, but eventually, those records go.
"We have the opportunity to be the first to do that this season.
"But you have to be at your very best to get something against them. They are top-quality players.
"I love the way they play football - but we cannot stand and admire them, we cannot afford to give Arsenal time on the ball to play because they have the ability to destroy you if you do.
"We have got to go and do a job against them, and that's what we are intent on doing."
Skipper George Boateng, like his manager, is relishing the opportunity to test himself against the Gunners once again, with Boro have taken four points from their last two meetings on Teesside and returned from the Emirates Stadium last season with a draw.
However, the stakes are perhaps even higher than usual this weekend, with Southgate's men having slipped into the bottom three despite last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Reading.
Boateng said: "Our position has made it even more important, and the fact that Arsenal are in first in the league makes it also very important for them because they need to win their matches.
"But we are all very well aware of the fact that we need to get points.
"People will write us off against Arsenal because they play very good football, but I watched them against Newcastle and I think there are opportunities for us to explore.
"As much as it is a must-win game for us, it is also a must-win game for Arsenal."
Asked about the possibility of Middlesbrough signing either Kaka or Ronaldinho, Boateng said: Well its obviously great news but i want them to know that they will not take my place easily!!They are great players,but i believe in myself and my team mates know that too!
Southgate could have keeper Mark Schwarzer back from a broken thumb and midfielder Julio Arca is available once again after recovering from a medial ligament injury.
However, it could be his defenders who find themselves under the greatest pressure as striker Emmanuel Adebayor attempts to get the visitors off to the same sort of start his superb fourth-minute volley handed them at St James' Park in midweek.
Southgate said: "He gives them a threat aerially in the box, which they did not have before.
