The Pomaks have all the characteristics of the Turkish culture, and they are the grandchildren of the Kuman & Kıpcak Turks.

The Pomak Turks and the wildness of the Bulgarian Churches
The Pomaks live in the region that covers the southwest of Bulgaria and the north of Greece. There are one million 300 thousand Muslim Pomaks in Bulgaria. When Bulgaria was under a communist regime, the Pomaks were isolated from the outside world.
A young priest, namely Boyan Sariyev, was trying to Christianize the Pomaks living in the Rodop region.
Boyan Sariyev was born as child of a Muslim family.
..in 1990, Sariyev returned to Bulgaria and he started the Christian Progress Movement. He started a movement for Christianizing the Pomaks, by giving a big amount of money to those that give their children to the church.
Sariyev Christianized 150 peoples in 1991. This number was increased to 2100 in 1992-1993 and children constituted the 800 of this number. The people who try to prevent these actives are inactivated. Those who oppose to the church find themselves isolated or under the pressure of the police.
The last event in the village Kirkova is really wildness...
A well situated Muslim, argued with the priest who tried to Christianize his children. Later, the same Muslim man was arrested for raping a Christian girl. After this case they made a decision that Muslim mothers have no rights on Christian children and the church took the children from their mothers.
The most terrible thing of all is that world only watches the happenings, without making any attempt to help them. Please make something about our brothers..
