Premier Azarov: Ukraine, Macedonia should intensify trade, economic relations
KYIV, September 8 /UKRINFORM/.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov congratulated President of the Macedonian government Nikola Gruevski on the national holiday, the Independence Day, the Media Liaison Department of the Cabinet's Secretariat informed.
Mykola Azarov underscored that trade and economic relations should be intensified between Ukraine and Macedonia to ensure successful partnership relations between the countries.
“I am convinced that ensuring successful and mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Macedonia is impossible without development of the economic component of bilateral relations, increasing the volumes of mutual trade, realization of new perspective projects in different spheres that are priority for activities of our governments,” the congratulation reads.
The Ukrainian Premier expressed conviction that an official visit of the President of the Macedonian government to Ukraine, planned for autumn 2010, will add a considerable impetus to development of bipartite trade and economic contacts.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of direct investments from Macedonia to Ukraine's economy as of January 1, 2010, made up USD 2.159 million. There are 14 enterprises with Macedonian capital functioning in Ukraine.
