Many outlets have picked up an article from Marca which states that Real Madrid have signed 21 year old Chilean striker for free. He will train with the first team but he will play with Castilla initially.

Real Madrid sign Sebastian Pinto for Free

SANTIAGO.- Chilean forward Sebastiбn Pinto would be Real Madridґs first signing in the process of putting together a team for the Spanish league’s summer “parуn”. His future with the team would, however, depend on Roberto Soldadoґs departure.

Pinto, a former player for the University of Chile, probably did not cost Real Madrid a penny according to today’s version of the Spanish sports periodical, Marca. Pinto was cut loose last Wednesday after ending negotiations to renew his contract with the University of Chile. “How do I feel about leaving? I feel that I did the best I could for the club, that I am leaving a great institution and that I would like to return someday”, said Pinto.

Although he will train with the team, for now Pinto will be supporting R.M. Castilla’s forward line. R.M. Castilla is an affiliate for Real Madrid in the “Segunda B” (the third division of Spanish soccer). Pinto’s position could change, however, if Roberto Soldado is signed by the team Benfica de Portugal. In this case the goal-scoring South American player would be added to Real Madridґs ranks, to play alongside Ra'l, Robinho, and the rest of the team.
