Macedonian pianist Simon Trpceski has been thrilling audiences since he was 15 with smart and thoughtful performances of the repertoire from Bach to today’s composers. His ecstatic audiences span the globe, from L.A. to London, from Kalamazoo to Kuala Lumpur and now New York, where he makes his Philharmonic debut in Rachmaninoff’s famously knuckle-busting Third Piano Concerto.

Simon Trpceski

Pianist Simon Trpceski, who is making his New York Philharmonic debut, made his recital debut at Wigmore Hall in June 2001, and a highly successful Proms debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in 2004. Each season he performs with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall, and he has recently given his second concert at the Barbican with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He also appears regularly with many provincial orchestras, this season returning to the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. In the 2005–06 season he will make his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In the U.S. he has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and has also performed on subscription with the San Francisco Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, and Seattle Symphony. In spring 2006 he will perform with the Toronto Symphony and Charlotte Symphony. He has made recitals tours in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Mr. Trpceski’s first recital recording, as part of the EMI Classics Debut Series, features music by Tchaikovsky, Scriabin, Stravinsky, and Prokofiev, and received both the Editor’s Choice and the Debut Album Awards at the Gramophone Awards, and in Gramophone magazine. His second recital recording, an all-Rachmaninoff disc, has just been released on EMI Classics.

Born in the Republic of Macedonia in 1979, Simon Trpceski has won prizes in international piano competitions in the U.K. (World Piano Competition 2000), the Czech Republic, and Italy. In July 2002 he graduated from the Faculty of Music of the University of St. Cyril and St. Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia. He was a member of the BBC New Generation Scheme 2001–03, and in May 2003 received the Young Artist Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society.

ОBDN Симон е најдоброто нешто шо излегло од Македонија и алал му вера на дечкото цар е. Таков талент не се раѓа со децении. Не се мала работа сите тие концерти по Британија и Европа. Последниот концерт во Македонија пред два дена во Скопје бил право уживање. Не е мала работа Еми класикс во своето портфолио да има две цедеа изведби од Симон од кое второто спаѓа во групата на Main Label. Капа му симнувам на Симон најдобриот македонски амбасадор во светот, бидејќи благодарение на него многу луѓе и на карта научија каде е Македонија.
