Западна Тракија се наоѓа на североисточниот дел од Грција меѓу реките Еврос и Нестос, Родопите и Егејското море. Таа е една
од деветте реони на Грција, со површина од 8578 km2 и е поделена на три провинции- Ксанти, Родопи и Еврос. Според некои проценки бројот на турците,кои живеат во Западна Тракија е околу
150000. Повеќе од половината од турското население живее во селските реони и се занимава со земјоделство. Зарворени во гета, заради стравот од асимилирање, наметнување на друга култура, религија и јазик.
Проблемите со кои тие се соочуваат се навистина големи- непризнавањето на етничкиот идентитет, ускратени социјални и др.права, .......

Western Thrace is located in the northeast part of Greece between the rivers Evros and Nestos, in
the east and in the west, and Rodopi Mountains and the Aegean Sea, in the north and in the south. It is one
of the nine regions of Greece. Its area is 8578 km2 and it is divided into three provinces. Ksanthi, Rodopi,
and Evros. According to general estimates the number of Turks living in Western Thrace is around
150.000. More than half of the Turkish population lives in rural areas and their livelihood is primarily
based on farming.
In Western Thrace the concern of assimilation in a different culture, language and religion, which
is also strengthened with various political practices, had closed the minority in ghettos. Up to recent times
the minority faced with unlawful application and many violations. Migration, denial of ethnic identity,
violation of educational rights and social exclusion are some examples that would be examined in this.
