State Statistical Office of Macedonia - Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index - Sept 2009
The Retail Price index in September 2009, compared with August 2009, decreased by 0.5%, while the Consumer Price index decreased by 0.1%
According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price index in September 2009 in comparison with the previous month is 99.5, while the Consumer Price index is 99.9.
The decrease in the Consumer Price index by 0.1% is a result of the lower indices of fruit by 7.5%, fats by 3.0%, fish and other food products by 0.7%, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.4%, cereal products by 0.3%, processed vegetable and meat by 0.2%.
In September, also decreased the indices of materials for household maintenance by 0.8%, cosmetic products and education services by 0.4%, furniture and means of education by 0.3%, household appliances and personal care articles by 0.2%.
An increase in the Consumer Price index, in September 2009, in comparison with the previous month, is registered at vegetable by 3.3%, eggs by 0.8%, dairy products by 0.4%, milk and sore milk by 0.3%, processed meat and processed fish by 0.2%.
Also, an increase of the Consumer Price index is registered at oil derivates by 2.3%, solid fuels by 1.9%, transport equipment by 1.7%, services for personal health care and hygiene and food and beverages in Restaurants and hotels by 0.5%, medicines by 0.4% and footwear by 0.3%.
The Retail Price index, in September 2009, compared with September 2008, registered decrease by 1.9%, and the Consumer Price index decrease by 1.4%.
The value of the consumer basket for food and beverages for a four-member household in September 2009, calculated on the basis of retail prices, is 11 728 denars and in comparison with the previous month it is lower by 0.8%.
