Russia 'doomed to defeat' and may face 'shameful peace', says ultranationalist blogger
A prominent Russian ultranationalist military commentator has warned Russia is "doomed to defeat", according to a new update from the Institute for the Study of War.This is because it cannot produce enough interceptor missiles to compete with Western economic potential, which is far greater than Moscow's, it said.
"Western-backed" Ukrainian drone attacks against Russia have increasingly involved hundreds of drones and the size of such strikes will only increase.
The "ultranationalist" commentator said Russia must either agree to a "shameful peace" or decisively defeat Ukraine through a strategic offensive...
...And yet Moscow's leadership is not politically ready to conduct such an attack, the commentator said.
The commentator's statements come as Ukrainian strikes on Moscow's Baltic Sea oil infrastructure have notably impacted the Russian economy. The commentator claimed that the size of such strikes will only increase, and that Russia cannot produce enough interceptor missiles to compete with Western economic potential and is thus "doomed to defeat" and forced to immediately "solve the problem of ending the war". The commentator claimed that Russia must either agree to a "shameful peace" or decisively defeat Ukraine through a strategic offensive, but that the Russian leadership is not politically ready to conduct such an offensive, and is therefore already working toward a "shameful peace".

Ukraine's Ministry of Defence reported yesterday that strikes on Russian Baltic Sea ports that began on 24 March have stopped a significant portion of Russian oil exports.
These include exports from Russia's largest crude oil exporting port on the Baltic Sea at Primorsk.
Ukrainian attacks 'rather successful'
A prominent Russian ultranationalist military blogger complained last week that Russian forces will be unable to reverse an unfavourable battlefield situation in the coming months.
"Rather successful" counterattacks from Kyiv have disrupted Russia's ability to pursue offensive efforts this year, the blogger added.
They also noted that Russian forces suffer from significant communications problems due to Starlink blocking and from a shortage of electronic warfare systems.
